The Laurentian University Scholarships for International Students in Canada aims to attract and support the brightest minds from around the world to study in an undergraduate, masters or doctoral program at the university. High-achieving international students can obtain some of the most generous scholarships available in Canada.
Undergraduate scholarships are limited to students in open-enrollment programs . Excluded undergraduate programs include: Architecture, Education, Forensic Science, Human Kinetics, Mechanical Engineering, Midwifery, Nursing, Speech Therapy, Radiation Therapy, Social Work and sports administration.
Applications can be submitted even if the candidate has not yet applied or officially accepted entry into a program at Laurentian .
The Laurentian University Academic Excellence Scholarship program is designed to recognize and reward students with high academic achievement.
The value of the scholarship will depend on the student’s grade point average (GPA) ( undergraduate ), as shown below:
- Students with an average of 90% to 100% will receive up to $60,000 in scholarships .
- Students with an average of 80% to 89.9% will receive an average of up to $40,000 in scholarships .
For Masters and PhD students :
- Travel grant : up to $600 offered to the master’s and $1,200 to the doctorate. Travel funds are valid for the duration of the student’s program and are not renewed each year.
- Dean’s Entrance Scholarship : A one-time, non-renewable scholarship of $1,500 is available to master’s students entering their first year of study. Students with an average of over 90% will receive $3,000 (not available to MBA students)
Applications should be completed one year prior to the planned study start date. (ex. If a student plans to start in September 2024, they MUST complete an application in 2024.).
